At the AFEW center in Nairobi they breed the Rothschild Giraffe. There are only very few left in the wild. The young are returned to safe parks in Kenya, returned to the wild at 2-3 years of age. 40 have returned this way since the inception of the center. At the center there's an education center, but you also get a chance to feed the giraffes pellets. Some of the older giraffes are very adept at catching the pony pellets.
