Seated Vervet Monkey
Vervet monkeys arrived by ship on the Caribbean island of Nevis from Africa, and have thrived in the local rainforest on the slopes of the extinct volcano. They are wary of humans but after Hurricane Hugo hit the island they ventured further down and will now roam all the way to the shore and around settled areas looking for fruit, I photographed this one in some dense scrub land between the shore and the main forest.
