A tree casts a partial shadow over the body of a deer walking on the wetlands. The wetlands flood some times during the year, for several weeks at a time, which creates the illusion of a lake with trees protruding through the water. This is not good for them. We were told that in the past, there were many more trees than nowadays. The deer find plenty of food the rest of the year but to me they look like they need more in winter.
