    In Seattle, “Snowmageddon ‘19” blew in and stayed a while, causing our year-round Anna’s Hummingbirds to question their non-migration strategy. (We all did.) Falsely rumored to have evolved with no feet(!), they need to rest between feedings to conserve energy. This one is hanging onto a backyard lilac branch in the wind and snow, fluffing air into feathers to capture body heat. It’s fun to catch them (trying to be) still. Cropped, adjusted WB, Exposure
