There is so much to love about winter in the wine country. This year the murmurations were the star of the show. As I hiked over the hills of Napa, I could hear them before I saw them. They feast at the "all you can eat" buffet of grape remains on the vineyard ground. Then one (or some?) of them gives the signal to take flight and perform their sky high dances. When the show is finished it's back to the vines for another round. Sky, dance, ground, eat, repeat!
