Shaved Ice is sold with tons of flavors as street food in India. A black colored glob of ice is unusual and this one was my first time having it. The flavor here is 'kalakhatta'. It literally translates to black sour as it is a syrup made from a type of black plum found in South Asia and lime juice. The syrup can also be consumed as a beverage on a hot summer day, but with shaved ice, its a whole other world of enjoyment :)
