'Seemantha', baby shower in India
'Seemantha', is a ceremony observed in various parts of India before a child is born. It is usually celebrated on odd months (7th or 9th). The expectant mother is showered with gifts and food. Fried chaklis(savoury), sweets and a wide variety of fruits are given by the guests. She will also receive a green coloured Saree, which symbolises fertility.
