The Terek River is a major river in the Northern Caucasus, flows through South Ossetia and Russia into the Caspian Sea. At this point people pray under the cross, lighting hundreds of candles. I believe that those who come here to pray want to tell their sufferings to the river, which it will take them as far as possible.
