Clean Monday (or in Greek Kathara Deftera) is a public holiday in Greece, and is celebrated with outdoor excursions, delicious fasting foods, as well as the widespread custom of flying kites. People go to the numerous parks and hills with their children and one can see hundreds of flying kites all over the city.
