The location of this dive was the Tehere Pass at Apataki Atoll, about 225 miles northeast of Tahiti. As the tide rushes through the pass and into the lagoon, divers stay on the sides of the narrow canyon, while 200-300 grey reef sharks (Carcharhinus amblyrhynchos) hang out in the current and come in very close to inspect us. While not a strenuous dive, it’s very “high energy”!
