Bakarwals, a nomadic tribe from Northern India, are people who frequent the mountains of Kashmir during the summer season. They are the only people, who reside in these landscapes, other than the Indian military jawans who are posted there as safekeepers of this disputed land over which India and Pakistan have been fighting since their independence in 1947.
