Sea and Storm
The beauty and challenge of Lofoten is its incredibly unpredictable weather. During our trip in early march we braved wave after wave of blizzard and hailstorm to photograph Uttakleiv Beach. This photo captures how rapidly the weather changed As what you're seeing is hail at 1/60th a second exposure coming from the left, as the previous wave of storm clouds are torn free of the cliffs on the other side of the bay. Just seconds before it was a pure white out, and moments later the snow stopped.
