I have seen very few beings as fascinating as Hermit Crabs (Coenobita sp). It was a Gulliver-in-Lilliput moment when I first saw them. Shells moving around on the sand, suddenly spouting green and orange legs from underneath, and little button-like eyes that followed. They looked like little warriors on a mission, walking around with helmets larger than their bodies. And unbelievably adorable.
