While I was in college I met up with my family to celebrate my mom's 50th birthday. Suspecting that there would be no cake, I decided to make one. Since I did not have a car, the cake traveled with me on bus and train. A few years later my mom returned the gesture by bringing a cake to where my dad, brother, and I were camping for my birthday. This year was my dad's turn for a traveling cake (we were planing on camping, but weather and road concerns changed our plans).
