The celebration of the Chinese New Year is typically marked by an abundance of food. Food is an integral part of the celebration that lasts for days and weeks. In a small town in Sichuan I visited earlier this year, I was amazed that huge cured meat was hanging everywhere on the main street of the town. I guess it's a proud symbol of prosperity as well as food for the whole family during the celebration of the traditional Chinese New Year.
