The Lewis and Clark Expedition (also know as The Corps of Discovery Expedition) was ordered by president Thomas Jefferson and ran from 1804-1806. With the goal of mapping out the newly purchased Louisiana Territory, Lewis and Clark studied plants, animals, and the Native American Tribes that they encountered on their journey.
