People enjoying the Midnight Sun
Kalajoki sits where the Kalajoki River enters the Gulf of Bothnia at the northern part of the Baltic Sea. This beach town is famous for its white sandy beach and shallow water. It is possible to wade into the sea for a mile towards Sweden. I took this picture at 10:42pm on the 15th of July while facing Northwest. The sunset was still 46 minutes away. While the closest people are only a few hundred meters from my position at the shore, the people in the background are over a kilometer away.
