    Blind followers of Lord Shiva and/or Lord Murugan undertake severe hardships like long fasting, piercing needle in body parts, long march with rituals etc. in Vel Vel festival. Motive behind such activity might be of receiving boon from the Almighty or to accomplish a vow. While my short trip to witness and document such festival in Hooghly district of West Bengal, India, the movement of one such follower with his offering to Lord piercing trident shaped forks compelled to freeze the moment
