We were out walking around exploring the Garnet Ghost Town and the snow began to fall heavy as my wife walked down towards main street. Garnet is a ghost town in Granite County, Montana. Located on the dirt Garnet Range Road, it is an abandoned mining town that dates from the 1860s. The town is located 11 miles up the Garnet Range Road in the mountains and forest of the First Chance Gulch in western Montana. The town is at about 6,000 feet (1,800 m) elevation.
