Glen Esk
It is said that when God shaped the Earth from rocks and clay, He was so delighted with the work that before setting it spinning into space He gave it a last loving pat leaving a handprint. It was that heavenly handprint that created the Glens of Angus. As the poet John Angus expressed it: Four fair green glens reach far into the west, And of them all, the loveliest and best Is Esk - Glen Esk, by loving gesture given; God's little finger left the mark of heaven. There are few trees on the hills.
