The female adult Peregrine Falcon flies out of her nest in the cliffs to attack a Pelican who is innocently flying by down the beach. The only time of year the Peregrines do this is when they have chicks in the nest and want to make sure that no one comes close. She digs her talons in and many times pulls out feathers.
