Every year the spring melt is in a hurry to flow from a nearby wetlands and into Georgian Bay. Sometimes as it transitions into a stream a whirlpool forms. I was wearing chest waders to take this photograph, and as I moved closer my boot dislodged some sediment, which was also pulled into the vortex.
