    In the early morning I saw a pair of American avocets splashing water and getting ready to mate. I quickly picked a spot with the water reflecting the shadow of a wall (to get a cool dark background). As a drop of the golden sun hit the top of the avocets, I snapped a shot of the moment with water splashed in the air by the male.
