    In the early morning I saw a pair of American avocets getting ready to mate. I quickly picked a spot with the water reflecting the shadow of a wall (to get a cool dark background). As a drop of the golden Sun hit the pair, I snapped a shot of the moment when the male jumped off of the female and their beaks locked.
