These two hawks were battling over a field snake. I watched for a significant amount of time as one caught a small snake then took to the airways. Another hawk chased after it and an aerial battle was soon unfolding right before my eyes. They flew and dove and spun around each other vying for the prized meal. In this photograph, one hawk is actually upside down as it extends its talons to try and snatch away the snake from the other hawk.
