The Poor knights Islands are off the Tutukaka coast on the North Island of New Zealand. They are the abundant remains of ancient volcanoes that erupted in the pacific ring of fire.
800 meters around the islands and below the water is marine reserve. The islands themselves are a nature reserve.
Teeming with life they are an unspoiled oasis of colour and diversity. Definitely a national treasure.
