    Edit Photo Details And The Gods Return   #india #festival #hindu #worship #streets #artists #kolkata #calcutta #durga #idol #hinduism #durgapuja
Artisans work tirelessly on the streets of Kolkata, to finish their idols in time for the annual festival of Durga Puja. Every year the festival turns the city into a sea of lights and sounds for 4 days, when the ten-handed Goddess Durga, riding on her lion, descends on this world to root out evil. Kumortuli is the Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) neighborhood where most artistic work is pursued. Kolkata also happens to be my most beloved city, where I was once born. https://www.eyeofoctopus.com
