Silversmith at Inle lake, Myanmar
A chief silversmith is seen busy at his wooden workshop over Inle lake, Myanmar. He pulls a hand bellow to control the flame while shaping a handmade silver bowl. These bowls are many times used by the local monks to place offerings and also purchased by foreign tourists. The craftsmen sometimes sell the silver products on their boats at different floating markets. It is said that the historic ‘Silver Age’ blossomed in Myanmar from the mid-19th to the early 20th century.
