    For this image, I challenged myself to photograph a bee in mid-flight, a somewhat difficult task given how fast they move from flower to flower in the warm sunlight. This photo also captured an unexpected detail: the moment this bee excreted some kind of liquid. After a bit of research, I learned that the nectar consumed by bees not only supplies the sugar necessary to fuel their busy lives, but also an excess of water which must be released, sometimes in mid-air.
