This moment features my son basking in the light of our camping lantern. He found the lantern in our supply closet and immediately created a camping mise-en-scene in our bedroom. To me, this type of spontaneous fun and the spark of joy on my son's face encapsulates what it means to be in our family. While there are classic flashbulb moments in a family's story - weddings, graduations, birthdays - I love the ordinariness and messiness of everyday life as a family.
