Mendenhall Glacier, Alaska
The Mendenhall Glacier, 13.5 miles in length, outside of Juneau, Alaska. The Mendenhall is receding, 1.75 miles since 1929 and 2.5 miles since 1500. Climate change? Glaciers provide many benefits to the eco system as well as humans. Much of the Alaska population depend on glaciers for their drinking water.
