Balgavies Loch to most people looks quite ordinary small body of water but the loch is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and has hidden in it tiny creatures that can only be found in a few areas.Aquatic ecological research has been carried out in the loch. The water might look a bit murky but apart from normal organic debris it is extremely clear. This swan's feather drifted across the loch on the breeze.
