My talented husband is making walking sticks. He was given a piece of wood that reminded him of a python, so he painstakingly carved scales on it, then painted and varnished it, finishing it off with 2 screws for eyes. We couldn’t get brass screws up in the Sri Lankan hills, but I think the silver coloured ones are rather striking! Shot taken at our place in Ella.
