Little Viper
I walk through a field of these spikes of blue viper bugloss as I go to the beach each day. I decided to cut one and find a less windy place to photograph it and discovered it's a little viper, covered with spines as fine fiberglass and just as sharp. It may get its name from the forked tongue of its pistil, but it has also has a nasty bite!
