The Namib Desert in Namibia is an incredible place. It is incredibly harsh, incredibly dry and incredibly interesting. From the 1000+ year old plants that only need the morning fog to survive, to the towering peaks that are almost completely covered in sand, it is an awe inspiring place. One way it is awe inspiring is through the sheer isolation, you can stand there with nothing for many, many miles around you. You feel both alone and small in this massive dead space... Then you see the beauty.
