Menin Gate
I grew up around the battlefields of the first world war and close to the Menin Gate. I’ve been there many times, but it was something special to be there on 11/11/18 at 11’o’clock. These were a couple of photos from soldiers whose names are engraved on the walls of the gate. All of those 55000 names represent a missing soldier. Some were blown to pieces never to be found again. Others slowly disappeared in the muddy grounds between the trenches. Fading away just as these pictures will.
