Stewart State Forest in Orange County New York, was formally a large land parcel with four roads across it. The houses along those roads were completely removed to make way for expansion of Stewart International Airport, formally Stewart Air Force Base many years ago. The paved road were left but the expansion never happened. The roads have wild flowers along them while the forest has become a multiple-use area.
