Sometimes patience pays off. I woke up at 3:30 in the morning to drive to this spot in Lagos, Portugal. After searching in the dark to find the path, I took a short walk down a staircase to this alcove. Luckily the tide was low, but the seas were angry. I sat there alone for several hours taking pictures, and just as I was getting ready to leave after sunrise, the sunlight came streaming in through a gap in the rocks. The view was spectacular--I only wish there had been some clouds in the sky!
