A surfer is eager to paddle out off of Snapper Rocks on the Gold Coast. He waits for a lull in the huge wave sets that have been pounding the east coast of Australia.The image provides a great representation of nature's power and human vulnerability to its forces.
Wow, the sense of scale for this moment is awesome, Matt! I love how you found the small detail, the surfer, while the huge surf looks like it might envelop him. Great use of rule of thirds to create a balanced frame.
