It's spelled out in 45-feet-tall white capital letters & is 350 feet long. It was created in1923 as an advertisement for the Hollywoodland Realty Co., a local real estate development Co. gave it to the city of Hollywood in 1926 & they took off the last four letters & left only the word Hollywood.
