    The Big Tub lighthouse stands at the mouth of the big tub harbour in Tobermory and historically guided ships away from storms and rough weather on the lake in an area prone to ship wrecks. The lighthouse is still used as an aid to navigation maintained by the Canadian Coast Guard.
