In the experience of a lifetime, I spent a day documenting the lives of Rwanda's critically endangered Mountain Gorillas. In all of my wildlife experiences, this one was the most intimate – a feeling of camaraderie with a very healthy dose of deference. We were in their home and in their not so distant past they were the victims of vicious poaching by human beings. They had reason to be wary, yet they welcomed our small group. This teenaged black back was very curious about me.
