I recently spent a week in Hawaii. Birding wasn't my focus, but I did see LOTS of birds as I toured parks and gardens near Honolulu. This Java Sparrow was another species I saw most often foraging in the grass. And like the Chestnut Munias and Common Waxbills, I usually saw them in groups of a half-dozen or more.
