I Saw A Chapel All of Gold—W Blake
The setting sun hid behind St. Nicholas’s chapel whose most prominent feature is the lofty, cross-shaped bell tower. Silhouettes of human figures are discerned outside, enjoying the idyllic view of the bay. The cloud-laden skies’ dominant colour is golden.
The chapel is located on St. Nicholas’s pier in Thessalonikē, Greece, where sailing ships are docked (Nautical Club).
Photograph reminiscent of William Blake’s poem lines:
“I saw a chapel all of gold
That none did dare to enter in…”
