    Remember the 2016 Supermoon? Here it is rising over Yosemite National Park, Sierra Nevada Mountains (Half Dome is visible in the lower left part of the picture). Distance from Earth on that day: 356,509 km. Looking into the future, the next time a Supermoon will come closer than that will be on November 25, 2034: 356,446 km. In comparison, the usual distance to the moon is 384,400 km. Aerial image (photographed from a plane).
