The last tinsmith's future
Sa’eid is 75 years old and has been a tinsmith for about 70. There is almost no work for him anymore, as everyone turned into modern cooking tools. He is the last tinsmith in Mardin, with him a chapter of tradition ends. But others remain. One day his wife read on the bottom of his (turkish) coffee cup, that someone close to him would die. 10 minutes later their son came in announcing Sa’eid mother’s death “I swear I was surprised, normally without God nobody can know, but she read it”.
