    Tecayehuatzin de Huexotzinco Ruler of the manor of Huexotzinco was the most famous of the prehispanic philosophers (Tlamatini) of the poblano-tlaxcalteca region. As a poet, he focuses on the composition of the xopancuícatl (songs of the joy of living), icnocuícatl (poems of deep melancholic reflection) and especially the xochicuícatl (flowery songs to ephemeral beauty); the prince himself mentions that his greatest desire is the creation of "flowery, lethargic and heady songs".Few poems survived
