A quiet and clear night in a plateau of the Atacama desert. But suddenly, strange coloured clouds are approaching, painting the night sky with red, orange and green colours. It's not a storm, they are not clouds. It's the natural brightness of the atmosphere, called airglow. Lighted by the UV radiation of the Sun during the day, modelled by high altitude winds, this beautiful display is visible only from the darkest sky of the world.
