Hiking along the lakes of Tolmie Peak Trail miserably unprepared for the hoards of mosquitos that would rise up from the still lakes and small streams along the mountain. Every scene I passed required an internal assessment of how bad I wanted to capture it because I knew it meant I would have to stand still long enough to compose the image and in turn give the blood suckers time to swarm in for a meal. I went home with the most bites I've ever had in my life. Utterly polka-dotted.
