The Spadena or Witch's house was built in Culver City, CA in 1921. Designed by Art director - set decorator Harry Oliver, it was first used as an office for a film company. The house was moved to Beverly Hills in 1934 and a family name Spadena lived in the 3,500 sq ft home for some time, The house fell into disrepair and was about to be torn down, but was rescued. Walt Disney was said to have been influenced by the architecture and details of the grounds around the house. See next related pic.
